Last Week In Review

It’s been tricky finding enough time to read, thanks to all the Christmas preperations and events that always come with December. Last week I finished Harley Quinn Gang of Harleys, and started The Consequences by Colette Freedman. I wasn’t able to finish Inkdeath like I had wanted to, so I am still listening to the audiobook by Cornelia Funke.

Hopes For This Week

This week I hope to finish Inkdeath. I also plan to finish The Consequences. Once those are done I hope to start The Dream Gatherer by Kristen Britain.

Other Bookish Things

While out and about with my hubby this past weekend, we stopped near one of my favorite second hand book stores. I could see inside the store front from where our car was parked, and was overcome with a strong urge to be in there surrounded by the old book smell. So I begged five minutes from our errands and stepped inside. I ended up getting this!

This weekend I also stopped by a couple Little Free Library’s and took home these treasures.

Thanks for reading!

Last week I finished The Library Book by Susan Orlean, Harley Quinn vol. 5 The Jokers Last Laugh, Harley Quinn vol 6 Black, White, and Red All Over.

I also started Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke

Hopes For This Week

This week I will be finishing Inkdeath. I also plan to read Harley Quinn and Her Gang of Harleys.

Other Bookish Things

December is almost halfway through already. Christmas is right around the corner. I am eagerly awaiting to see which of the books I had put on my wish list I will get. I love surprises so I always put way more on my wishlist than anyone can actually get me. That way I never really know what I am going to get.

It’s also time to start thinking about new year goals. I know it’s kind of campy to do the whole new year new me thing. And I don’t really agree with the new me part all that much anyway. I do, however, feel that it is important to sit down and do a little self evaluation from time to time for the purposes of self improvement. The start of the new year is as good a time as any to do it. Of course for the purposes of this blog I will be thinking about my literary goals in both reading and writing. So for the next few weeks I will be turning my mind in that direction.

Thanks for reading!

Last Week In Review

I’m playing catch up a little bit. I missed my IMWAYR post for 2525-Nov-19. I was bound and determined to finish my 50,000 words for Nanowrimo and focused on that last Monday to the exclusion of all else.

Sorry about that!

So, to catch you up, in the last two weeks I have read:

Hopes For This Week

This week I will be reading:

Other Bookish Things

National Novel Writing Month

I finished with a total word count of 50,238!

As always Nanowrimo was great practice, and so much fun. This year, even though I started off with no real plan for my story, I learned a nifty way to plot out a novel. I’m probably going to use this towards editing and rewriting my current work in progress.

Thanks for reading!

Last Week In Review

Last week I managed to make it two thirds of the way through Doctor Sleep by Stephen King.

I also started listening to Inkspell by Cornelia Funk last week, even though I had planned on just focusing on Doctor Sleep. I would have kept to that plan but I had forgotten this had been automatically borrowed from my library because I had it on hold. As it was by the time I remembered, I only had four days left on the loan! I didn’t finish it, but thats ok because I own a copy too and I can finish it up later.

Hopes For This Week

This weeks reading goal is the same as last week. I need to keep focusing on Nanowrimo, so I’m going to work keep to working my way through Doctor Sleep.

Other Bookish Things

National Novel Writing Month

I am 15 chapters in, over 30,000 words in! I have to admit that I felt like I was fighting for every word last week, but I made it past halfway!

My snack stash. A Nanowrimo participant needs to keep up her strength!

My goal is to have a total word count of 42,874 by Sunday. Then the finish line will be in sight!

Thanks for reading!

Last Week In Review

Last week I finished The Shining by Stephen King and the Exorcist. Yay for reaching reading goals during Nanowrimo madness!

Hopes For This Week

This week I hope to finish Doctor Sleep by Stephen King.  of course with Nanowrimo on the go, that might not happen. So I won’t be adding any other books to my TBR pile this week!

Just a reminder that today is Remembrance day/Vetrans day. Let’s take a moment to honor our soldiers and those who serve.

Other Bookish Things

National Novel Writing Month

I am 10 chapters in, over 18,000 words now. I have managed to stay about a day ahead of the word count game to allow myself a little leeway. We all know that life has a way of stepping in and throwing up barriers, so that I like to give myself a bit of a cushion just in case.

Funko Pop Jareth and Hoggle judging me while I make up a story about them.

My goal is to have a total word count of 30,365 by Sunday. I will be over halfway to my 50K!

Thanks for reading!
